This instruction implements AFPD 21-1, Air and Space Maintenance, and Joint Publication AR 700-132/OPNAVINST 4731.1A/AFI(I) 21-131, Joint Oil Analysis Program. It provides procedural guidance and assigns responsibility for managing the Air Force Oil Analysis Program (OAP) and for participating in the Joint Oil Analysis Program (JOAP). This instruction applies to all USAF and DoD contractor activities, including the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve. HQ USAF/ILM must approve any deviations from this instruction. Records Disposition. Ensure that all records created by this AFI are maintained and disposed of IAW AFMAN 37-139, Records Disposition Schedule.
