scope:
This INTERIM Defence Standard specifies requirements for two grades of polychloroprene rubber mix designated CR-OX 55 and 75 for use in the manufacture of seals and gaskets used in (AD and FWAM) fuses.
The designation 'Type OX' indicates that the material is suitable for certain applications where a high degree of compatibility with explosives is a requirement, However, compatibility with all explosives in all environments has not been established, and Design Authorities should seek advice on particular applications from the Head of Energetic Materials and Terminal Effects Department, Defence Research Agency, Fort Halstead, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN14 7BP.
Attention is drawn to Def Stan 13-102, Testing of Materials which are Required to be Compatible with Explosives.
