scope:

This Standard specifies the design performance and test requirements for wall mounted reel and hose assemblies having an axis fixed at 90° to the supporting wall for connecting permanently to a supply of water and with a guide to facilitate the withdrawal of the hose in any direction.

Additionally, this Standard shall be used for swinging reels which shall incorporate the basic reel design features, performance and peripheral components where they apply. Hinges, mountings and pedestals shall be approved by the authority before any contract.
