FOREWORD

The purpose of this document is to provide a common understanding of the terms and definitions used within the AMEPP series.

This Allied Maritime Environmental Protection Publication, AMEPP 7, has been prepared by AC/141 (SWG/12) on Maritime Environmental Protection.

Each nation is encouraged to use this AMEPP in enhance their understanding of the relevant terminology and provide a basis for the introduction of equipment and procedures to enhance standardization and interoperability.

This AMEPP is part of the AMEPP series on Maritime Environmental Protection which includes a Glossary of Terms, National Environmental Regulations, and Equipment Catalogue, Ship Design Guidance, Ozone Depleting Substitute Solvent and Cleaning Agent Alternatives, and a Hazardous Material Offload Guide.
