This specification covers integrally lighted, 1-⅞-inch dial aircraft accelerometers having a range of −2 to +4g's.
Accelerometers shall be of the following types, as specified (see 6.2):
ABU-8/A Cover glass coated with antireflection coating per MIL-C-675 ABU-8A/A Cover glass coated with multilayer antireflection coating of high efficiency (superior to coating specified for ABU-8/A accelerometer).
intended Use:
The ABU-8/A and ABU-8A/A accelerometers covered by this specification are intended for use in aircraft to indicate vertical acceleration during maneuvers and in rough air.
