scope:
This specification covers circular and elliptical-shaped floodlights with aluminum or porcelain-covered steel reflectors, which are bracket-mounted and weatherproof, and are provided with or without a convex lens.
Floodlights covered by this specification shall be of the following types, reflector materials, inner auxiliary reflector options, and lens options, as specified (see 6.2).
The type of floodlight shall be designated as follows:
I - Wide beam, 200- to 300- watt, circular. II - Narrow beam, 500-watt, circular. III - Elliptical, 300- to 500-watt. IV - Elliptical, 750- to 1,500-watt. V - Wide beam, 750- to 1,000-watt, circular.
The reflector material shall be designated as follows:
S - Steel reflector (see 3.4 and 3.4.1). A - Aluminum reflector (see 3.4 and 3.4.2).

The option of an inner auxiliary reflector shall be designated as follows:
Y - Inner auxiliary reflector included with elliptical/reflector
The option of a lens shall be designated as follows:
D - Diffusing lens included (see 3.5). S - Spreading lens included (see 3.5). N - Lens not included. NA - Lens not applicable.
A specification-based PIN shall be included to identify the floodlight type, reflector material, inner auxiliary reflector option, and lens option for floodlights (see 6.2 and 6.6).

The floodlights are intended for use in illuminating recreational and industrial areas and for military utility lighting.
