PURPOSE. The purpose of this procedure is to define the methods and responsibilities for design/development control of flight systems at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). Implementation of this procedure will satisfy the requirements of the "Marshall Management Manual" (MMM), MPD 1280.1.

APPLICABILITY. This procedure applies to flight hardware, software, and associated ground support equipment design activities performed at or under the direction of MSFC. (Reference MPG 8823.1 for Facilities Design Control and MPG 8060.2 for Non-Flight and Non-Facility Design and Development.)
