MODUK - DEF STAN 83-67

Tapes, Textile, Plain Weave, Polyester and Cotton, Tubular, Type QX

inactive, Most Current
Organization: MODUK
Publication Date: 3 May 1980
Status: inactive
Page Count: 14
scope:

This Standard relates to tubular tape woven from a polyester staple and cotton fibre blend which is used as a component in ammunition and specifies the material, aethods of test and other requirements.

The designation 'Type QX' indicates that the material is of a quality suitable for certain applications where a high degree of compatibility with explosives is a requirement. However, its compatibility with all explosives in all environments has not been established, and Design Authorities should therefore seek advice from:

The Director

Propellants, Explosives and Rocket Motor Establishment

Powdermill Lane

Waltham Abbey

Essex

on particular applications.
