This standard defines MC&G product accuracy and provides a common basis for the appropriate application of these definitions.

The standard accuracy definitions apply uniformly to product designers, producers and users.

These standards apply to both internal and contractual development efforts by the Military Departments, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Defense Agencies of the Department of Defense (DoD), collectively known as DoD Components; and to all levels involved in the preparation, maintenance of MC&G products.
