This European Standard has been drawn up with the purpose of aiming at optimum performance in rail transportation. Performance implies a certain quality level of the vehicle running gear, which every railway company may require, notably by imposing procedures in approval and requisting the existence of a quality assurance and conditions for approval of the products.
