This commercial item description covers two types of sodium metasilicate for use in various washing, cleaning and scouring processes, with or without soap or detergents as conditions demand.
The sodium metasilicate shall be of the following types:
Type I - Pentahydrate (Na2SiO3 · 5H2O).
Type II - Anhydrous (Na2SiO3).
