GMNA - VOL II SEC V

Section V - Design Guide for Determining the Length of Thread Engagement for Various Metals Recommended Metric Hole Sizes

inactive, Most Current
Organization: GMNA
Publication Date: 1 September 1973
Status: inactive
Page Count: 5
scope:

T: When designing a bolted joint that requires a tapped hole it is desirable to minimize the bolt length and the tapped hole depth, and yet insure that neither the threads on the bolt nor in the tapped hole will strip. This design guide provides a means for obtaining these objectives where the design involves Unified Standard coarse (UNC or UNRC) and fine (UNF or UNRF) series threads in sizes 1/4 through 5/8 inch in a variety of materials.
