scope:
This standard establishes requirements for the physical marking of electrical and electronic parts. This standard should be implemented by incorporating suitable requirements directly in acquisition documents.
Applicability. This standard is intended for Federal Stock Group (FSG) 59 and may be applied in acquisition documents to electrical and electronic parts that are covered by other FSG's (such as panel meters, FSC 6625) if desired. The acquiring activity will evaluate the requirements (sections, paragraphs, or sentences) in this standard to determine the extent to which each requirement can be tailored and be placed on contract in order to impose only the minimum essential needs of the Government. For additional information on application, refer to section 6.
