The purpose of this part of IEC 61300 is to measure the wavelength dependence of the attenuation of a single mode fibre optic device under test (DUT) when it is inserted into a fibre optic cable (for branching devices, except dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) components, it can also be used to measure the wavelength dependence of coupling ratio).
