This specification provides guidance for the inspection and testing of electrical installations in domestic properties. It provides a method of recording the general characteristics of the installation, circuit details and loading, check lists for inspection and testing, and a format for recording the results. It provides only for the minimum inspection and testing requirements contained in HD 384.6.61. User country´s national standards and general practices are not precluded by the specification and if suitable may be used to supplement it. It includes general information concerning the responsibilities of the landlord and the tenant, and the responsibilities of the installer when working on an electrical installation. The specification may also be used in owner occupied dwellings. There are no restrictions on the use of the specification.
