This list has been prepared for use by or for the Government in the acquisition of products covered by the subject specification and such listing of a product is not intended to and does not connote endorsement of the product by the Department of Defense. All products listed herein have been qualified under the requirements for the product as specified in the latest effective issue of the applicable specification. This list is subject to change without notice; revision or amendment of this list will be issued as necessary. The listing of a product does not release the supplier from compliance with the specification requirements.

CLASS 2 INFORMATION

CLASS 2 PRODUCTS

(1) Class 2 products are for original equipment installations or high production situations only.

(2) When a military procurement activity receives a military part number request for Class 2 products, the procurement activity must procure suitable Class 1 replacement products in lieu of the Class 2 items.

(3) A Class 2 part is ordered by the manufacturers part number. Only that particular manufacturer's approved Class 2 Tool can be used with the Class 2 part.

(4) Class 2 products will not be stocked by the Defense General Supply Center for replacement purposes.

(5) Class 2 products do require qualification approval. Copies of the Qualifying Activity's approved part number listing must be obtained from the manufacturer. Class 2 products have the same periodic qualification requirements as Class 1 products. A verbal confirmation of a manufacturer's qualification reference number for particular Class 2 product may be obtained from the Qualifying Activity: Telephone (317) 306-3237 or Autovon 369-3237.
