Purpose. The CAEG equipment's primary purpose is to support technical graphics requirements of the NAS. The composition of hardware, software and/or firmware obtained as a result of this contract shall be expandable to meet the FAA's future NAS engineering graphics workload requirements, as defined in this document, for the duration of the life-cycle of the CAEG System (5 years after equipment delivery).

This specification establishes hardware and software requirements for a Computer-Aided Engineering Graphics (CAEG) System capable of meeting the needs of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The CAEG System is a part of the support system for the FAA's National Airspace System (NAS).
