The purpose of this test method is :-

To determine the resistance of metals, metallic and other protective coatings, normally applied to automotive components and products, to high humidity environments at elevated or room temperatures.

To determine the resistance of components and materials to high humidity environments by measurement of physical and mechanical properties before and after exposure to high temperature and high humidity conditions.
