The shelter/entrance covered by this specification is a double walled, air inflated, chemical-biological (CB) shelter tent, capable of being erected by five men in 30 minutes. It is trailer-transportable, can be airdropped, and is designed to provide a CB hazard-free environment for field medical operations or in which personnel may eat, sleep, shave, perform other bodily functions and obtain relief from the physical and psychological stresses of wearing combat CB protective clothing. When erected, the shelter walls are inflated to 1.5 psi. Semicircular in cross section, the shelter has a maximum inside height of 7 feet 6 inches and a minimum floor area of 208 square feet (15 by 14 feet). The inside dimensions of the entrance are 11 feet long, 50 inches wide, and 80 inches high.
