Definitions

In the following Conditions of Contract and in any other Conditions, Notices, Schedules or correspondence relating to the Contract which incorporates these Conditions of Contract:

"The Authority" means the Secretary of State for Defence.

"The Quality Assurance Representative" means any officer authorised to act on behalf of "The Authority" in relation to Quality Assurance matters. "Materiel" means a generic tem covering equipment, stores, supplies and spares.

"The Articles" has the same meaning as that contained in Standard Conditions 1(2)(a) of GC/STORES/l Edition April 1979.

In BS5750 Parts 1.2 and 3:

"The Purchaser" means "The Authority" and

"The Purchaser's Representative" means "The Quality Assurance Representative".

"Project Management" or "Progress Authority" means the Authorities so designated in the Contract.
