scope:

Tins Standard provides a means for determining the capability of a manufacturer to fabricate precast concrete elements to stated requirements.

Certification as to conformity to this Standard shall be by an organization competent to inspect and evaluate the manufacturer's facilities, personnel, and operations, and which shall be acceptable to the regulatory authority.

A plant, whether permanently established or of a temporary nature built for a specific project or product application for a limited operational period, shall meet the requirements of this Standard within one or more of the categories stated in Clause 2.

This Standard may be incorporated by reference In specifications or by regulatory authorities. Under no circumstances shall such reference imply certification of individual precast concrete elements but shall only ensure that such elements arc fabricated in plants with certified capabilities as established by this Standard.
