SCOPE. This Instruction relates to original and master data records and data records intermediate to the original, master, and experiment data records that result from telemetry data acquisition by the Spaceflight Tracking and Data Network (STDN) for missions supported by that network.

PURPOSE. This Instruction establishes policies and procedures for the preservation and subsequent release of original data records, master data records, experiment data records, and intermediate data records for all the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) and some non-GSFC spaceflight missions.

APPLICABILITY. This Instruction is applicable to all GSFC organizational elements that have responsibility for receiving, storing, or shipping original and master data records. It also applies to all the GSFC organizational elements that are responsible for data records in storage at the Washington National Records Center (WNRC).
