PURPOSE. To provide policy and procedures governing storage of equipment and materials and management of both on-site and off-site storage facilities for Goddard Space Flight Center.
APPLICABILITY. This instruction applies to all controlled and non-controlled GSFC equipment including such equipment for which NASA/GSFC contractors have user responsibility and GSFC deliverables, to projects with extended life cycles that require storage of active equipment, and to special storage conditions, calibration cycles, shelf-life, testing, maintenance, and refurbishment actions.
