REISSUANCE AND PURPOSE. This Directive:

Reissues reference (a) to update policy and responsibilities governing DoD Directives, DoD Instructions, and DoD Publications (hereafter referred to collectively as "DoD issuances").

Cancels reference (b).

Continues to authorize the publication of references (c), (d), and (e).

APPLICABILITY. This Directive applies to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Military Departments, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Combatant Commands, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, the Defense Agencies, the DoD Field Activities, and all other organizational entities within the Department of Defense (hereafter referred to collectively as "the DoD Components").
