scope:

PURPOSE OF THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY ENGINEERING CAD & DRAFTING STANDARDS COMMITTEE:

• To establish and maintain the content of Ford Motor Company Engineering CAD & Drafting Standards.

• To establish and maintain a revision process for Ford Motor Company Engineering CAD & Drafting Standards.

• To provide validated content to RVT CAD, PIM Methods and Knowledge Based Engineering Department for distribution.

ACCOUNTABILITY. The Ford Motor Company Engineering CAD & Drafting Standards Committee (FECDS) will be accountable to the Office of the Executive Director, Product Creation Processes; hereafter referred to as the Director.

The Director will assist the FECDS in achieving its purpose by assisting, when required, with the provision of resources and other assistance as may be agreed between the two from time to time.

The Director or other Ford managers may recommend individuals to become Standard Sponsors on the FECDS. (See Committee Structure and Responsibilities below.)

CAD, PIM Methods and Knowledge Based Engineering will fund and maintain distribution of Ford Motor Company Engineering CAD & Drafting Standards and all, presently available, on-line external standards included in the Ford Motor Company Engineering CAD & Drafting Standards.

COMMITTEE STRUCTURE AND RESPONSIBILITIES. The FECDS will be comprised of Standard Sponsors.

A Standard Sponsor will be chosen based on needed subject matter expertise and will be responsible for managing the technical content of a Ford Motor Company Engineering CAD & Drafting Standard.

A Standard Sponsor may be responsible for more than one Standard.

A Standard Sponsor may be nominated to deputize for a main Standard Sponsor in the event the main Standard Sponsor is unable to attend a meeting.

FECDS will elect new members and a Committee Chairman and Secretary.

The FECDS will keep the Director and the Ford Design Issues Committee (DIC) informed of its progress by issuing meeting minutes to the Director and the DIC.

CHANGES TO THIS CHARTER. Any changes to this charter must be agreed by both the FECDS and the Director.
