scope:

This instruction applies only to new or reinstalled items of aviaiton SE, under the technical acquisition cognizance of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), where such equipment cannot be verified by the shipyard or fleet forces and requires installation, verification and certification prior to operational use. Reference (a) provides for continuing on-site support or rework of support equipment.

Purpose. To assign agents responsibilities for scheduling, monitoring, and coordinating aviation Support Equipment (SE) installation, verification and cerification aboard naval ships, shore sites, and Mobile Facilities (MF) through liaison with appropriate cognizant authorities.
