(Footnote 1) The intent of this test is to mechanically stress the interconnecting-device-to-fiber-optic-cable-joint in tension. The results of this test provide an indication as to the relative strength of the cable-to-interconnecting device joint and may also indicate degradation resulting from prior environmental exposure.

Footnote 1 - This method is similar to Method 2009.1 of MIL-STD-1344A.
