This Standard applies to polyethylene protective covering over paper-insulated metallic-sheathed power cables to protect the sheath against mechanical damage during installation and against corrosion

NOTE: For abnormal installations, such as when high transient voltages may appear on the metallic sheath, it may be necessary to require a greater thickens of polyethylene covering than the minimum of this standard and supplementary requirements may be necessary
