scope:
This specification covers flexible electrical insulation used in the coils and slots of electrical machinery at temperatures up to 220° Celsius (C).
The electrical insulation shall be of the following types, as specified (see 6.2):
Type I - Calendered. Type II - Calendered with improved tear resistance and conformability.
The electrical insulation shall be of the following forms, as specified (see 6.2):
Form S - Flat sheets, 36 by 36 inches or 24 by 36 inches (see 3.3.2.1). Rolls four inches wide or greater (see 3.3.2.1). Form T - Tape in rolls less than 4 inches wide (see 3.3.2.2).
The electrical insulation shall be of high temperature resistant, 100 percent aramid (aromatic polyamide polymer) fiber paper.
