1 SCOPE.

The gages specified herein are intended for use in determining the suitability of metric hexagon sockets, up to and including 24 mm across flats, in hexagon socket screw products to accept and conform with mating driving tools for the depth of engagement necessary to develop torsional characteristics adequate to properly tighten the screws. For various technical and economic reasons, the acceptability of larger size hexagon sockets shall be determined by means of direct measurement.
