This Part of the Defence Standard specifies the minimum non-statutory marking requirements for containers over 2 16.5 litres and pipelines used for the supply, transport and storage of fuels, lubricants and associated products.

This Part of the Standard excludes equipment at Naval Bulk Fuel Oil Depots and for replenishment at sea. It also excludes the basic colour of containers and pipelines required by the Services.

The requirements of this Part of the Standard are complementary to and compatible with, the requirements of NATO STANAG 3 149.
