This specification covers inherently combustion retardant flexible foams with low emission of smoke and toxic products to be used for the protection of fragile items aboard Navy ships. These foams include, but are not necessarily limited to polyimide types.
The flexible foam should be furnished in the following classes and grades:
Class 1 - Sheet stock, specified thickness Class 2 - Die cut to specified shape and thickness
