This standard defines test and measurement procedures for use by manufacturers of television receive antennas who wish to categorize their antennas in accordance with CEA Engineering Bulletin CEA-CEB6-C, TV Receiving Antenna Manufacturers Guide to Categorizing Antennas for Use with the CEA TV Antenna Selector Map Program.

This standard was developed by the CEA R-5 Antenna Systems Committee. It replaces EIA/CEA-774 (redesignated CEA-774 in 2003), which replaced the previous RETMA-141-A standard with amendments and additions relating to UHF television antennas, and antennas with integrated amplifiers. Essential elements include procedures to determine antenna gain, front-to-back ratio, directivity and distortion performance of active antennas with integrated amplifiers.
