NATO C3 Technical Architecture

inactive
Organization: NATO
Publication Date: 7 March 2003
Status: inactive
Page Count: 835
scope:

The NATO Interoperability Framework (NIF) is a 3 layer hierarchical structure comprising Policy, Execution and Product elements. The Product layer, known as the NATO Interoperability Environment (NIE), provides the basis for the technical development and evolution of C3 systems, and is itself partitioned into two domains: design and implementation. Within the design domain the NC3TA supports the Technical View by providing architectural design concepts and templates through Volume 2 (Architectural Descriptions and Models). Within the implementation domain, the NIE addresses the appropriate standards and products that are inclusive components of the NC3TA at Volume 4 NATO Common Standards Profile (NCSP) and Volume 5 NATO Common Operating Environment (NCOE).
