NATO - AEP-31

REFERENCE DOCUMENT OF COLOURS FOR DISRUPTIVE CAMOUFLAGE FOR MILITARY EQUIPMENT IN USE IN NATO

active, Most Current
Organization: NATO
Publication Date: 1 February 1994
Status: active
Page Count: 137
scope:

The aim of this document is to index, for NATO forces, the optical characteristics of colours which may be used for disruptive camouflage of military equipments.

These colours will provide disruptive colouring schemes to ensure an increased protection against enemy observation in the spectral regions extending from the near ultraviolet to the near infrared and to blend with the various geographical areas (woodland, snow-covered, urban, arid, etc.).

When a camouflage effect is required for a military equipment for which disruptive colouring is not planned, that equipment would be uniformly coated in NATO IRR green or other colour appropriated to the area, affording relative protection against enemy observation to the aforementioned spectral regions.
