INTRODUCTION
Defence Guide DG-8, Parts One and Two, contains information relating to treatments detailed in standard specifications, i.e. specifications generally available such as British Standards, Defence Specifications, DTD and CS specifications.
In the Service Departments the use of these standard specifications is, in many fields. governed by Departmental documents, some of which are mandatory. This Part gives details of these documents under broad fields of application.
The documents listed under 'New Manufacture and Construction' and 'Maintenance and Repair' include those dealing with surface cleaning and pre-treatment prior to the application of a permanent protective finish.
