scope:

This instruction applies to

a. all provisioning and reprovisioning of NAVAIR weapons, systems, equipments, support equipment (SE) and training devices, airborne/air launched ordnance, and subsequent requests for changes to established SM&R codes. Provisioning and reprovisioning includes item selection, Design Change Notice (DCN) actions, and SM&R Coding of support Equipment Requirements Data (SERD)sheets;

b. Naval Air System Command Headquarters (NAVAIRHQ), Program Support inventory control points (PSICP'S), inventory control (ICP 's) , contractors, and all other activities performing logistics support analysis (LSA) and provisionig/item selection functions for aeronautical and related weapons, systems, equipments, SE, airborne/air launched ordnance, and training devices procured by or for NAVAIR; and

c. all activities involved in the maintenance of aircraft, aeronautical equipment, airborne/air launched ordnance, aeronautical training devices, and aircraft support equipment which have occasion to refer to or utilize SM&R codes, as well as activities requesting changes to established SM&R codes.
