This specification covers electric hand lanterns, dry cell battery operated, of the floating and non-floating types. These lanterns are not for use in explosion-hazard areas or designed for underwater use.
The electric lanterns shall be of four types as follows:
Type I - Single beam. (Concentrated light beam.) Type II - Two beam. (One concentrated light beam and one diffused light beam.) Type III - Floating, Warning flasher and Single beam (Concentrated light beam.) Type IV - Warning Flasher and Single Beam (Concentrated Beam), Safety Lantern.
