INTRODUCTION
A Product layout is the tool used to describe any new, revised or adapted design depicting its development of new parts and assemblies and their usage and conditions in the surrounding vehicle environment. It is comprised of components, assemblies or systems as defined by the CPSC (Corporate Product System Classification) codes and any other surrounding or mating CPSC systems (background) that have the potential to impact the design. Extreme care must be taken to ensure that the design is robust, functional and can be assembled. Other support types of layouts can be created such as a Stackup Layouts, Study Layouts and Installation Layouts, etc., and can be identified as to their type, for example: NEW DESIGN FOR COST EVALUATION ONLY.
