1. SCOPE

The material defined by this specification is a preformed strip of unvulcanized rubber containing an insulated resistance wire. If the strip is positioned between glass and painted metal and a current passed, the initial effect shall be to soften the rubber so that the glass may be pressed into intimate contact by normal hand pressure. The effect of continuing the current shall be to cure the rubber and to securely bond the glass to the painted metal.
