Purpose of Publication

It is the Ministry's policy to look to Contractors to provide all the materials, tools and test equipment etc necessary for the execution of the contract it awards. However, the nature of the individual contracts and circumstances will on occasion dictate the issue of Government owned property and the purpose of this publication is to provide guidance, and inform Contractors to the Air Systems Controllerate of, the principles and procedures relating to the supply, custody, control and disposal of Ministry of Defence (MOD) owned standard referenced equipment to which they have contractual entitlement or which they may wish to obtain on issue to assist them in the execution of MOD contracts. In the event of conflict between the guidance contained in this document and the terms and conditions of a contract the latter will prevail.
