STANDARD SPECIFICATION FOR STEEL SHEET, ZINC-COATED (GALVANIZED) BY THE HOT-DIP PROCESS FOR CULVERTS AND UNDERDRAINS

This specification covers steel sheet, zinc-coated (galvanized), used in the manufacture of corrugated pipe for storm sewers, culverts, drains, and similar uses. The sheet is coated by the hot-dip process, and is produced in one coating weight [mass] only. Material for this use is furnished flat in coils and cut lengths, and corrugated in cut lengths. Galvanized sheet for culverts and underdrains is produced in one coating weight [mass] only, designated 2.00 oz/ft2 [610 g/m2] according to the requirements shown in Table 1.
Material supplied under this specification shall meet the applicable requirements of the latest revision of Specification A 525 or A 525M, unless otherwise specified herein.
The values stated in either inch pound or in SI units shall be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system must be used independently of the other, without combining values in any way.
