Purpose. This ETL provides dimensional criteria and guidance for planning, design, construction, and evaluation of assault landing zones used to conduct aircrew training and contingency operations of C-130 and C-17 aircraft. These standards do not provide sufficient clearances for flight operations during Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC).
