scope:

- The equipment covered by this specification shall provide two-way radio communication with properly equipped surface stations and other aircraft by means of amplitude-modulated radio telephony. When installed with the necessary associated equipment, the Radio set shall be suitable for the following uses:

(1) Communication by means of A-M radio telephony (A3).

(2) Automatic direction finding.

(3) Automatic relaying wherein reception of signals on one equipment will cause transmission on another as outlined herein.

(4) Communication by means of Radio Telephone when use in conjunction with KY-28 equipment, KY-28 controls and the following receiver-transmitters:
