scope:

This European Standard specifies minimum requirements for light duty construction compressed air line breathing apparatus incorporating helmets or hood which is intended for use in gaseous,particulate or combined contaminated atmospheres. Such equipment is intentended for use in work situations where the risk of damage to the compressed air supply tube is low and where movements of the wearer are limited. Escape and diving apparatus and apparatus used in abrasive blasting conditions are not covered by this European Standard.
