APPLICABILITY AND SCOPE

This Instruction applies to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), the Military Departments (including the Coast Guard when it is not operating as a Service in the Navy, under agreement with the Department of Homeland Security), the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Combatant Commands, the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, the Defense Agencies, the DoD Field Activities, and all other organizational entities within the Department of Defense (hereafter referred to collectively as the "DoD Components").

ISSUANCE AND PURPOSE

This Instruction:

Establishes policies, standards, and procedures for the conduct of GEOINT training in accordance with References (a) and (b).

Provides policies, standards, and procedures for the conduct of GEOINT training. It assigns responsibilities for GEOINT training within the various DoD Components.

Designates the National Geospatial-Intelligence College (NGC) as the GEOINT training and educational institution of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

Establishes the Community Geospatial-Intelligence Training Council (CGTC) as an advisory body on GEOINT training.
