scope:

PURPOSE. This Directive:

Establishes the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA), pursuant to the authority vested in the Secretary of Defense by reference (a), with the mission, responsibilities, functions, relationships, and authorities, as prescribed herein; and cancels reference (b).

Authorizes future consolidation, within the PFPA, of activities related to force protection, security, and law enforcement in the National Capital Region (NCR) under the cognizance of the Director of Administration and Management (DA&M).

APPLICABILITY. This Directive applies to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Military Departments, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Combatant Commands, the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, the Defense Agencies, the DoD Field Activities and all other organizational entities within the Department of Defense (hereafter referred to collectively as "the DoD Components").
