This specification governs two grades of synthetic lubricating oil, one (OX-27) intended primarily for use in military gas turbine engines and relevant anciliary equipment, the other (OX-28) specifically for use in marine gas turbine engines operated by the Royal Navy.
Lubricating oil provided to this specification shall possess satisfactory performance and properties when used in appropriate vehicles and/or gas turbines and ancillary equipment operated by the Crown.
