scope:
This standard establishes the technical content requirements for the preparation of Parts Information (PI) or Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists (RPSTLs) for major weapon systems, and their related systems, subsystems, equipment, weapons replacement assemblies (WRAs), and shop replacement assemblies (SRAs). The requirements are applicable for all maintenance levels through overhaul (depot) including Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWRs) and National Maintenance Work Requirements (NMWRs). Parts Information (PI) requirements are applicable for frame-based technical manuals and Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists (RPSTLs) requirements for paged-based manuals.
