scope:

PURPOSE This report describes all potential single nodes of failure and their causes, order to assess the reliability status of the various elements and the effect of each failure mode on operation, and to indicate any needed design modifications. This report will be used to assure that cause and effect of all potential single failure modes are considered, as a basis for test and checkout planning, as an aid to failure analysis, as a design aid, and to assure the identification and correction of failure modes potentially hazardous to personnel safety.
